Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahaani, also known as RARKPK or RRKPK, is a 2023 Indian Hindi-language film directed by Karan Johar and written by Ishita Moitra, Shashank Khaitan, and Sumit Roy. Produced by Dharma Productions and Viacom18 Studios, the film stars Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt in lead roles. The movie revolves around a couple with contrasting personalities who decide to live with each other’s families for three months before getting married.

The Love Story of Rocky and Rani

Dhanlaxmi Randhawa is a successful businesswoman who considers her husband Kanwal a failure and keeps her son Tijori away from him. Kanwal meets with an accident and becomes bound to a wheelchair for life. Years later, he regains some movement in his body and takes on the name Jamini. The doctors suggest that the family find Jamini, as it could help him recover.

Jamini is eventually traced by the family and they discover that her granddaughter is a popular anchor named Rani Chatterjee. Rocky, Kanwal’s grandson, meets Rani and asks her if her grandmother knew Kanwal. At first, Rani doesn’t take him seriously, but Jamini reveals the truth. Jamini and her family come to meet Kanwal and, after seeing him, he is finally able to get up from his wheelchair and kiss Jamini. However, this doesn’t sit well with Dhanlaxmi and Tijori.

Rocky and Rani try to arrange meetings for their grandparents without the knowledge of their parents and become close to each other. When Rocky proposes to Rani, she rejects him, saying that their relationship isn’t serious. However, while covering a news assignment in Shimla, she realizes her love for Rocky. Rani returns home and reveals her love for Rocky, but they still haven’t planned for marriage as both their families have different mindsets and cultures.
