Lust Stories 2: Made for Each Other

Veda and Arjun’s families want them to get married because they have similar interests. Veda’s grandmother tells them that physical compatibility is important in a relationship, so they sleep together. They continue to hook up secretly until they convince Veda’s grandmother they know how to satisfy each other.

Ishita catches her maid having sex with her husband and becomes turned on by watching them. She starts spying on them through a mirror and gets caught by her maid. They argue, and the maid gets fired. Later, they run into each other, and the maid asks for her job back. Ishita agrees, and they go back to their old patterns.

Lust Stories 2: Sex with the Ex

A CEO gets into an accident and meets a woman in a red saree who turns out to be his ex-wife. They talk about their past and have sex. She reveals that she was abducted and killed by him, and he wakes up next to his crashed car with people pulling his body out.

Suraj Singh is a wealthy king who sexually abuses his wife and other young girls. Devyani, his wife, hires a new maid named Rekha to replace the one Suraj assaulted. Rekha is actually a prostitute infected with HIV whom Devyani installed to pass the disease to Suraj. Suraj gets drunk and passes out, and Devyani realizes that Rekha is having sex with their son Ankur instead of him.

• Rediff.com’s critic Sukanya Verma gave Lust Stories season 2 a rating of 3 out of 5 stars. Verma praised the anthology for exploring lust beyond sexual aspects and acknowledged its potential as a streaming franchise. She particularly praised Konkona Sen Sharma’s segment for its intimate storytelling and social context. However, Verma expressed disappointment in the anthology’s lack of queer narratives.
• Saibal Chatterjee of NDTV rated the film 3/5 and described it as a mixed bag of stories and themes. While bursts of passion are present, Chatterjee felt that they are not the main focus. Chatterjee highlighted “The Mirror” as the turning point, exploring female desire in a complex manner.

• Debiparna Chakraborty from Best of Netflix gave the anthology 2/5 but praised Neena Gupta’s role in the first story. She also praised Konkona Sen Sharma’s short “The Mirror”, writing that it drives in the point that sex can be strange and messy, especially when it steps out of the confines of straight-laced monogamous heteronormativity.
• Shubhra Gupta writing for The Indian Express found Konkona Sen Sharma’s segment, “The Mirror,” to be the most complex and satisfying. Gupta criticized the lack of passion and avoidance of intimacy in the first episode. Gupta praised the performances in the fourth episode but noted the smaller impact of the marquee name, Kajol. Overall, Gupta appreciated the exploration of class and desire in “The Mirror” but criticized the lack of representation of marginalized communities in the anthology.

• Monika Rawal Kukreja of Hindustan Times praised Lust Stories 2 for exploring desi sexuality and giving different perspectives on female sexuality. Kukreja particularly enjoyed Konkona Sen Sharma’s segment and appreciated the performances of Tillotama Shome and Amruta Subhash. While she found Sujoy Ghosh’s segment to be the weakest, she credited Amit Sharma’s segment for its twist in the climax. Overall, Kukreja recommended Lust Stories 2 for its brilliant performances and the message it portrays.
