Cocktail Movie (2012)

The Cocktail is a 2012 Bollywood Hindi-language romantic comedy-drama film. Homi Adajania oversaw both the writing and the directing. 35 crores cost for the film to produce was paid by Saif Ali Khan and Dinesh Vijan. Deepika Padukone, Saif Ali Khan, Diana Penty, Dimple Kapadia, Boman Irani, and Randeep Hooda star in the film. Pritam, Yo Yo Honey Singh, and Salim-Sulaiman wrote the film’s score and soundtrack.

The cocktail movie was released in theaters worldwide on July 13, 2012. It became a commercial success, grossing 126 crores worldwide, making it one of the highest-grossing Hindi films of 2012.

At the 58th Annual Filmfare Awards, the Cocktail movie was nominated for four awards, two of which were for Best Actress (Deepika Padukone) and Best Female Debut (Diana Penty).

Cocktail Movie Cast

Priyanka Chopra was the first choice to play Veronica, but she didn’t get the part because of creative issues. At first, Deepika Padukone and Imran Khan were set to play the lead in the cocktail movie. Their chemistry in the ads for Break Ke Baad  made a big impression on young people. But the second actor turned down the film, so Saif Ali Khan took his place. He also decided to produce the film through his company, Illuminati Films.

Padukone was offered both the role of Veronica and the role of Meera. However, the role of Meera was similar to the role she played in Love Aaj Kal , so she goes with Veronica because she wanted to try something new. Imtiaz Ali’s 2011 movie Rockstar was supposed to be Diana Penty’s Bollywood debut. However, Ali suggested that she play the female lead in Cocktail movie instead, which is how Diana Penty got her start in Bollywood.

Cocktail Movie Songs

Pritam composed the music and Irshad Kamil wrote the lyrics for the Cocktail Movie. The film purchased the rights to a well-known Sufi song from Pakistan.
A celebration of Allah, the Islamic prophet Muhammad, and other Khalifs, “Alif Allah” was formerly sung by Pakistani Punjabi folk singer Arif Lohar.

“Angreji Beat,” a Punjabi song by Yo Yo Honey Singh and Gippy Grewal, is used in the title credits and trailer, but it’s not on the album.
Yo Yo Honey Singh wrote the music for “Main Sharaabi,” and Pritam sang it. Salim–Sulaiman wrote the music for the background.
