In November 2022, filmmaker Vidhu Vinod Chopra announced the production of the film “12th Fail,” based on the novel “Twelfth Fail” by Anurag Pathak. The story is inspired by the real-life experiences of IPS Officer Manoj Kumar Sharma and IRS Officer Shraddha Joshi.
Casting
Actor Vikrant Massey was chosen to play the lead role, marking his first collaboration with Chopra. UPSC coaching professor Vikas Divyakirti was cast to portray himself on screen. Real-life UPSC aspirants were also cast in various roles, adding authenticity to the film.
